Misorjobs Returns with Lessons for Job Hunters

Silver Lining
Silver Lining

There's a silver lining in every difficulty

After nearly three years of providing good, free service to thousands of job seekers in Misamis Oriental, Misorjobs nearly saw its end when it fell prey to a vicious hacking attack that took away thousands of pages, posts and files.

Some said the situation was hopeless, that I should just quit. I almost did but this was my first self-hosted blog, one that I built before I became an online expert. It’s having been one of the first of my online creations that made it difficult for me to let go. It felt like I was being made to bury a loved one.

So I toiled on and worked on the near impossible. After a week of the most rigorous research and work I’ve ever done in my life, I was finally able to jumpstart Misorjobs back to life. It wasn’t easy and it was most certainly an unpleasant ordeal, but giving up was not an option.

So what’s the big lesson in this for us all? For me the experience might have highlighted the need to obtain better understanding for the technical side of running a blog, but for job hunters, there is an even greater lesson. If you want something bad enough, there is nothing on earth that can stop you from getting it.

Job hunting is a lot like what I went through. It’s a difficult, tiring, nearly futile activity. You spend days, weeks and months knocking on employer doors in vain. As the days roll by you grow more and more hopeless. One thing’s for sure though, if you give up now, like I would have given up, you’ll get nowhere.

It’s only natural to complain and get depressed after difficult experiences but when you’ve aired out the hurt in your chest, get up, dust yourself and start again. Let determination, initiative and ingenuity fuel your search for jobs and for better lives. Don’t ever give up if something means a lot to you.

I checked this site always if I’m online. I am a BSHRM graduate and it’s really a great help especially that I’m from Manticao Mis.Or. looking for jobs in cdo. I can easily scroll and be updated with the hiring jobs and now I’m still looking for available positions to apply. There are already 4 companies who invited me for interview. Thank you for this site.
